the first post

My first post is about something I am extremely passionate about; food and restaurants. The backstory is to my love for food and restaurants is at the end of my days, I want to have owned my own, running restaurant. It is some kind of crazy dream of mine that I hope I am able to achieve someday. Anyway, let’s start this post off with a little recommendation for the New Englanders (and non-New Englanders who like to travel to random towns).

THE RECOMMENDATION: Breakfast at The City Room Café – Nashua, NH

The City Room Café is a small breakfast joint out in Nashua, NH. It is one of my favorite spots to get a good, reasonably priced breakfast in the area. The space itself is small but so warm and inviting. Around the walls are local artists work, a drawn on fireplace and some history of Nashua; it is extremely adorable. Not only is the vibe in the restaurant amazing, but the food is even better. I typically choose between two meals; the chicken, avocado, salsa crepes or the eggs Florentine. Yesterday, for my birthday, I chose the crepes and man oh man were they the right choice. They contain exactly what they say (plus cheese!) and are always cooked to perfection. The crepes come with a side of home fries which could be the most amazing home fries I have ever tried. They’re the perfect amount of potato and cooked to the golden brown/kind of burnt taste which just makes them so incredibly good. My fiancé, Kevin (you’ll get to know him), got some scrambled eggs, toast and bacon. He always says that the scrambled eggs are perfect at The City Room because they aren’t too wet or runny. Also, I

stole a piece of his bacon so I know it’s really damn good. Sometimes, on the weekends, you have to wait outside in a line to get a seat. They don’t take names or reservations but they always know who came first and they seat people in the order they came in. With that being said, if you come after a party of 4 but you are a party of 2 and a table for only 2 opens up, they’ll seat you. I recommend going with people you love and want to share a great breakfast with, but you most likely will wait on the weekend but only for a little while. Waiting is never too long because they are so quick to get people in and out but they never rush you or make you seem as though you are taking too long. With great food and equally great prices, I cannot recommend this place enough. If you are ever in the southern NH area, come by this amazing place and check it out!
